Using Track My Vinyl
The app is designed to be quick: scan the centre label, check what was read, then save the record to your collection or wishlist.
Scanning a record
Open Scan Record and either take a photograph or choose one from Photos. For the best result, keep the label reasonably straight, avoid strong reflections and make sure the artist and title are visible.
Check before saving
Label recognition uses AI and can occasionally misread unusual, damaged or difficult labels. Always check the result before saving. You can edit any field manually.
Duplicate records
If a record appears to match one already in your collection, Track My Vinyl will warn you before saving. You can cancel or deliberately add another copy.
Check Value
Marketplace searches are provided as research tools only. Vinyl prices can vary significantly according to pressing, condition, scarcity, demand and location, so displayed marketplace information should not be treated as a guaranteed valuation.
Your collection
Collection records can include artist, title, label, catalogue number, year, condition, price paid, purchase information, storage location, notes and a saved label image.
